Tubeclamp's Customisable Post Kits

How does it work?

Tubeclamp offers a wide range of convenient and versatile Railing and Post Kits that provide an unmatched solution for constructing strong and scalable hand railings, barriers, or guardrails. These modular kits eliminate the need for specialized tools or complex welding. The fittings easily slide onto the tube and are securely fastened using the provided setscrews, which can be tightened with either an Allen Key or Hexbit Drillbit.

To get started with your railing project, begin by selecting the slope / mounting option that best suits your specific site requirements. Then, personalize your kit by choosing the desired Tube Size, Post Height and if you require fittings for optional Kickrail. Please note that some kits include Kickrail Fittings as standard, and that not all Tube Size options are available for all kits.

Once you have made these selections, complement your kit by choosing from our range of optional extras. These include our Railing Fitting Kits with customizable Rail Fittings, Tubebends such as J Bends, as well as options for horizontal Tube to connect your posts.

All our Fittings and Tubes are crafted from galvanized steel, ensuring exceptional durability and longevity. If desired, we also offer powder coating options upon request.

Please keep in mind that our Railing Kits include Base Flanges, Fixing Screws and Vertical Tube only. For fittings to mount horizontal-rails see our Handrail Fitting Kits. Options for horizontal-tube can be found at the Tube section of our website or at the short below.

Does this product include Rail Fixings or Horizontal Rail Tubes?
remove
add
No, due to the range of different Rail Fittings we stock it would be too complicate to include in one product. Instead we offer customisable Handrailing Fittings Kits for both Industrial and DDA Disability Handrail uses.

Secondly, we offer options for longer lengths of Tube for purchase through the Tube section of our website.
Are your products weather resistant?
remove
add

Our Handrail Fittings and Tube are made from Hot Dipped Galvanised Steel making them strong and long lasting in most environments. Our products are weather resistant and can be used outdoors for years without issue.

It is important to understand that all steel products will eventually corrode when exposed to outdoor conditions, particularly in regions with high moisture or persistant contact with salt water.

What is the difference between using C42 and D48 sized bar for handrails?
remove
add

The strength of a handrail typically increases with the number of horizontal rails it has, but the number of rails needed can vary depending on the specific use.

Single-rail handrails are commonly used in residential properties to provide adequate support for walking on ramps and stairs.

In residential, commercial, and industrial settings, two-rail handrails are the most popular choice due to their balance of strength and cost effectiveness. They are also ideal for ensuring accessibility for children and individuals in wheelchairs.

Triple-rail handrails are typically found in pedestrian walkways or roadside barriers in high traffic areas, providing additional protection and safety measures.

How much space should I leave between my posts?
remove
add
The maximum spacing for handrails is up to 2 meters, and 1.5m for stairs (up 6 steps apart). However we recommend reducing the distance between posts to increase the regidity and strength of your handrail.

The maximum distance between vertical posts for Disability handrailings should be no large than 1.5m.
Do i need more horizontal rails?
remove
add
Generally the more horizontal rails the stronger the handrail. However, different applications may require any number of rails.

Single-rail handrails are typically only used within residential properties. They ensure adequate support for walking on ramps and stairs.

Two-rail handrails are the most typical design for residential, commercial and industrial settings. They provide alot of strength and protection for the cost per metre. They are also more suitable for providing accessibility for children and wheelchairs.

Triple-rail handrails are generally used for pedestrian walkways, or roadside barriers, where high vehicle traffic is present.
When do I need to use Toe-boards/Kick-boards?
remove
add
Toe-boards are necessary when building disability handrails that are not next to a wall. They can also be used on raised walkways to keep objects from falling over the edge.
How tall do you recommend i build my handrail?
remove
add
Typically we recommend a handrail has a height between 900mm and 1100mm, ideally this height should be consistant across the entire handrail.

Disability handrails should be no shorter than 865mm, nor taller than 1000mm.

If mid-rails are installed then the inside distance between the top-rail and mid-rail should be no more than 450mm apart. The distance between the mid-rail and the ground should also be no more than 560mm apart.

Handrails for stairs are the same height as regular handrails relative to the step height rather than to the ground.
What is the difference between Industrial and DDA Disability Handrails?
remove
add
Industrial handrails are designed to provide maximum strength and do not require a smooth top-rail. This type of handrail is best suited to low foot traffic industrial areas such as factories.

Disability handrails are required by Australia standards to contain a smooth top-rail (with no produding elements are holes where little fingers may get caught) with extensions of more than 300mm on both ends. Industrial handrails do not require toe-boards while Disability railings do (when a wall is not present).

Disability handrails must be between 865mm to 1000mm tall.
